Speak the truth
One quiet Thursday afternoon in February 2023, during a moment of prayer and reflection, I felt a clear prompting from the Holy Spirit to read Acts 2:37. At first, I struggled to grasp its full meaning, even after reading the verse and its surrounding passages. But as I continued to seek guidance, the Holy Spirit revealed a powerful truth: the importance of speaking words that touch and transform hearts, rather than simply aiming to please others. This insight deeply moved me, underscoring the calling of every Christian to inspire true change through their words.
The Holy Spirit also impressed upon me the distinction between being a "soul Christian" and a "Spirit Christian." True impact, I was reminded, comes not from stirring fleeting emotions but from fostering genuine, lasting transformation in others. With this revelation in mind, I revisited my notes, praying for alignment with this profound truth and giving thanks to God for His guidance.
For a deeper understanding, I encourage you to read Acts 2:1-41. In this passage, Peter’s powerful speech led his listeners to a life-changing response. As 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV) reminds us, all Scripture is God-breathed and serves to teach, correct, and train in righteousness. This reaffirms the critical importance of preaching truth that not only reaches the mind but profoundly stirs the heart, leading to meaningful and lasting change.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You for the gift of life and the blessing of a new day. Father, in the name of Jesus, guide us to walk in Your truth so that we may speak it with grace and courage. Amen.
